ISBT-imphal INTER-STATE BUS TERMINUS - Manipur Pradesh Congress Committee

The ISBT project was sanctioned during the 11th NEC Plan and has been constructed with a total cost of Rs. 24.55 crores. It was inaugurated by the Hon’ble Prime Minister, Dr. Manmohan Singh, on the 3rd December, 2011.

The ISBT, constructed at its site measuring 9.135 acres at Dewhlaland, Imphal, has a capacity of handling 105 buses at a time. It has been designed to meet the projected need for surface transportation in the next 10-15 years. It will cater to around 200 buses plying in this sector which do not have any proper parking facility.

Manipur being a landlocked State, the terminus will facilitate surface transport and communication, and will boost trade and passenger travel. It will also indirectly promote tourism, local handloom and handicraft, and have bearing on international trade under the Look East Policy of the country.
