IMPHAL, Nov 14 : Manipur Pradesh Congress Committee today observed the 127th birth anniversary of India’s first Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru at Congress Bhavan, BT road.
Chief Minister Okram Ibobi Singh, followed by Manipur Pradesh Congress Committee president TN Haokip, Cabinet Ministers, MLAs and office bearers of Congress office, paid floral tributes to Pandit Nehru.
“Paying tributes to Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru, India’s first Prime Minister on his 127th birthday. Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru loved children, so every year his birthday is celebrated as Children’s Day. The contributions of the late Prime Minister will always be remembered,” Chief Minister Okram Ibobi said at the function.
The Chief Minister refused to reply when asked about what steps the State Government have taken to resolve the UNC’s economic blockade.
Manipur Library Association (MALA)
IMPHAL, Nov 14 : Manipur Library Association (MALA) kick started National Library Week observance at its hall today.
Thounaojam Khomdon Singh, Manipur University of Culture Librarian and kangjam Chaoba Singh, president, MALA graced the opening programme.
The Library Week observance will conclude on November 20, a statement informed.
